Back to Basics

I've gone back to school, folks. Well, back to my animation books from Uni. Although it's ridiculously time consuming I think the juice is worth the squeeze. With so many motion graphic designers using the same software and plugins, characters can start to look a little familiar. With cell animation, you can manipulate limbs and  body parts however you want... although it might take an eternity.

Rigging!

Here's a little insight into one of my latest characters, all rigged up and ready to go... and then duplicate. This is where a HUGE chunk of production time is spent. First we have to get the characters signed off, then we need to rig them so they're ready for animation. It's time consuming, but well worth the effort as you can them duplicate the template for each shot.

Morning Doodles

I found some fantastic brushes for Photoshop this morning and couldn't wait to try them out. Fingers crossed I'm get asked to do something more like this rather than the average flat vector treatment I asked for so much. Perhaps a discounted rate? Watch this space.

Doodles

Here's a little doodle for a personal project I'm working on in my spare time. I always draw happy, closed eyes... the next will have nothing but open eyes! I promise!
