Why I’d Love to Join Northampton Saints

Passion
I love rugby. I’ve been playing since I was seven years old and currently play for my local team, Leighton Buzzard, despite what my knees might say. Every Sunday morning, I coach my son’s U9 team, and I also run a Nudge Club where the minis and colts can work on their kicking game.
I’ve been a Saints fan ever since I was 10, and the thought of creating content for a club that has significantly shaped my journey would be a dream come true.
I know design.
I know sport.
With 18 years of experience in the motion and graphic design industry, I have collaborated with top UK agencies such as Mainframe and Cub Studio. Additionally, I spent 10 years freelancing, during which I presented projects to global clients and stakeholders.
I stay updated on current design and social media trends that help advance clubs and franchises worldwide. I have represented Saints and Saracens Academy as a junior, and have lived and breathed sports my entire life.
I understand what excites fans, earns their trust, and captures attention online.

I do more than motion design
I lead projects from idea to delivery.
I collaborate with in-house teams, agencies, and creatives.
I shape stories that feel right for the platform and the moment.
If you need someone who just makes things move, there are plenty. If you want someone who adds value and growth – I’m your guy.

The client wanted to build buzz around the Rugby World Cup by engaging a more adult audience with a sense of humour and edge.
I created motion content that leaned into their irreverent tone – bold, punchy visuals that matched the pace and personality of their commentary.
The aim was to cut through the noise, speak directly to rugby fans who enjoy the sport’s lighter side, and help drive shares, laughs, and momentum leading into the tournament.
Thank you for your time.
I appreciate you taking the time to explore this page.
If you think I’d be a good fit for the role, or just want to chat more about the club, content, or rugby in general, I’d love to hear from you.
All the best,
Simon
