Howdy, I’m Simon, a senior freelance motion designer.
I’m a UK-based senior freelance motion designer with over 15 years of experience creating 2D and 3D motion graphics for sports, sustainability, broadcast, and branded content. I specialise in animation for advertising, digital platforms, and broadcast, working with agencies and brands across the UK, Europe, and North America. Based just north of London, I collaborate remotely or on-site depending on the needs of the project.
My role often sits at the intersection of creative and production. I’m comfortable shaping ideas early on, working within established brand systems, or taking projects from brief through to delivery. That flexibility comes from years of studio experience, where collaboration, shared feedback loops, and tight timelines are the norm.
I learned my trade at Mainframe before spending four years as Head of Animation at Cub Studio, where I led animation across a wide range of client projects. That studio background still shapes how I work today.
In 2025, I returned to full-time freelancing, combining studio-level production standards with the flexibility and direct communication that comes from working one-to-one with a senior motion designer.
I create animations that help teams clearly explain complex ideas. That might mean supporting a sports organisation communicating new rules, helping a sustainability team share impact, or working with agencies to visualise data and ideas.
My work includes projects across sports and event animation, sustainability content, corporate explainers, and broadcast graphics for organisations such as UEFA, the NFL, World Rugby, the Olympics, Amazon Climate Pledge, the United Nations, BBC Sport, and Sky Sports; often delivered through agency and studio teams.
Clients tend to value me for being calm, organised, and dependable. I focus on clarity, momentum, and making sure the work stays solid when things get busy.
If you’re looking for a motion designer who can take a project from concept to delivery without drama, I’d be happy to talk it through.
