Amazon - The Climate Sustainabily Pledge

Project Overview

While working at Cub Studio, I was part of a team that collaborated with Amazon on a project promoting The Climate Pledge, an ambitious initiative co-founded with Global Optimism in 2019. The goal? Achieve net-zero carbon emissions across Amazon’s global operations by 2040, a full decade ahead of the Paris Agreement target.

Our task was to bring The Climate Pledge to life through motion design, communicating both the urgency and optimism behind this global sustainability commitment. The final animation highlights how Amazon and over 535 signatories are investing in sustainability and reshaping what sustainability in business means today.

This project offered a powerful opportunity to explore how to improve environmental sustainability through storytelling and design. From corporate responsibility and sustainability reporting to climate action and innovation, we focused on visually distilling complex ideas into engaging, accessible messaging. It’s a great example of how sustainability disclosure and communication strategies can make abstract corporate sustainability objectives more tangible.

Working on this also deepened my understanding of how motion graphics can support business sustainability practices, helping companies share their vision for environmental and sustainability transformation. Whether it’s through sustainability benchmarking, developing a sustainability strategy, or educating for sustainability, design plays a critical role in bringing clarity to climate commitments.

The animation now lives as part of Amazon’s broader sustainability communication toolkit, and I’m proud to have contributed to such a meaningful project. As a freelance motion graphics designer, I’m always keen to support brands and organisations that are working toward circularity, net-zero goals, and sustainable corporate strategies.
