Loop Industries: Closing the Loop on Plastic Waste

Client: Loop Industries
Direction - Simon Tibbs
My Role - Animation, Design and Illustration, Pre Production
Audio - Thomas Williams

Project Overview

Loop Industries enlisted me to direct and produce an animated explainer showing how their breakthrough recycling process transforms low-value plastic into high-purity PET. As a freelance motion designer passionate about sustainability, this was a chance to make complex science accessible and inspiring.

Loop’s proprietary depolymerisation technology breaks down PET plastics and polyester fibres into their original monomers — no fossil fuels, no quality loss, and no landfill. Our goal was to visualise this process in a way that felt clean, credible, and future-focused. The animation blends sharp visual storytelling with an optimistic tone, aimed at helping Loop communicate its impact to partners and the public.

This project shows how motion design can simplify technical processes and support real-world climate solutions. Whether you’re an environmental tech company, NGO, or innovator building the next green breakthrough, I offer motion graphics that clarify, inspire, and connect.
