The New Plastics Economy ~ Innovation Prize Animation

Client: Ellen MacArthur Foundation
Direction - Simon Tibbs
My Role - Animation, Design and Illustration, Pre-Production
Audio - Thomas Williams

The Ellen MacArthur Foundation launched its New Plastics Economy initiative to accelerate the shift toward circular solutions in plastic use. As part of this, I was brought on to direct and animate a promotional video for the Foundation’s $2M Innovation Prize, aimed at designers, businesses, and startups developing alternatives to plastic waste.

My role was to turn a complex sustainability challenge into a bold, energetic explainer animation that was easy to understand and globally shareable. Working closely with the Foundation’s team, I developed visuals that were graphic, clear, and forward-looking — designed to communicate ambition and inspire action.

This project is a strong example of how motion design can support sustainability in business, helping organisations communicate purpose with clarity. Whether you’re a nonprofit, social enterprise, or brand working toward circular economy goals, I create animated content that connects vision with visual storytelling..
