At Oakbeam Pictures, I animated the visual system for GCoM's Innovate4Cities summit in Nairobi, the annual gathering where city leaders and climate specialists turn ambition into practical action.
My job was bringing Oakbeam's illustrations to life: layered 2.5D animation in After Effects that gave the artwork depth without losing its flat, graphic feel.
The border was the hardest part, a tile pattern meant to move as one reactive surface across the opening films, stage graphics and session visuals. Rigging that by hand in After Effects would have been painful, so I built it in Cavalry instead, the first time that's been the right call over After Effects on a brief.
