Novamont and PepsiCo tasked me with creating an animated explainer that communicates the benefits of compostable materials in sustainable packaging. The animation focuses on explaining how compostable materials function within wider waste and recovery systems. Clear visual structure, controlled pacing and simplified graphics were used to communicate complex material processes without overwhelming technical detail.
Pre-Production: Storyboarding the vision
Before animation began, the storyboarding phase played a crucial role in shaping the narrative. The goal was to ensure that each sequence effectively communicated the composting process in a way that was both engaging and easy to follow.
Visual Planning – Carefully designed each frame to balance education and entertainment.
Motion Considerations – Mapped out key transitions for a smooth visual experience.
Narrative Flow – Structured the story to introduce compostable packaging concepts step by step.
